Overview

An institutional research desk for independent advisors

NGEN Markets is a subscription platform for Indian mutual-fund distributors and registered investment advisers. It turns published NAV, price, and holdings data into the analytics an institutional desk would expect — and because it also pulls each advisor's real client book in from the registrars, the same engine runs on actual client portfolios. It replaces the patchwork of spreadsheets, AMC factsheets, and consumer comparison sites that advisors otherwise rely on.

ARK Angel Labs delivers the platform end to end: product design, automated data pipelines, the analytics engine, the web application, AI integration, and day-to-day operations — including white-label deployments that run under a bank's or enterprise's own brand and domain.

Capabilities

What the platform does

Fund analytics

Full fund pages: point-to-point, rolling and calendar returns, drawdowns, distributions, capture ratios, look-through holdings, and manager history.

Peer rankings

ngenQuartiles ranks every fund within its peer group at each month-end on 21 metrics, with quartile history and a published methodology.

Fund screener

Filter the entire Indian mutual-fund universe by category, AMC, size, age, returns, Sharpe, and VaR — as of today or any past month-end.

Compare & backtesting

Funds, stocks, category averages, and whole portfolios side by side, with overlaps, correlations, and portfolio optimisation.

SIP & SWP simulation

Step-up SIPs, withdrawal sustainability solvers, and rolling analysis that replays a plan from every start month in history.

Client data, connected

Advisors' real client books flow in from the CAMS and KFintech registrars and parsed CAS statements, valued daily.

Co-branded reporting

Client-ready PDF, PowerPoint, HTML, and Excel reports plus mobile-friendly share links — all under the advisor's own brand.

AI research desk

Live intraday, daily, and weekly market commentary and monthly fund summaries — generated from the platform's own data and clearly labelled.

Engineering

How it's built

  • One analytics engine everywhere. Fund pages, comparisons, client links, and reports all use the same computation conventions — a client document always matches what the screen shows.
  • Split API architecture. A fast API serves live data and user actions; a separate compute service handles heavy portfolio-history and planning workloads.
  • Automated data pipelines. Multiple daily NAV and price pulls pass a plausibility barrier that quarantines suspect data for review, alongside nightly holdings jobs and month-end ranking cuts.
  • Grounded, labelled AI. Commentary is generated only from the platform's own database, is barred from commenting on fund returns, and is always labelled as AI-generated.
